Nicole Melchi is a Marriage & Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor. Nicole has experience working with adolescents and adults in individual, group, couples/marital, and family therapies.
Nicole received unique training in the areas of perinatal and postpartum mood disorders. This training experience was designed to enhance clinical skills and therapeutic effectiveness, increasing her knowledge of treating perinatal and postpartum illness and greatly expand her clinical repertoire. Nicole also is a qualified Bringing Baby Home Educator and Seven Principles Leader. This qualification enables Nicole to lead couples workshops that integrate the teachings of The Bringing Baby Home Program and the Seven Principles for Making a Marriage Work Program. The Bringing Baby Home Program is dedicated to improving the quality of the life for babies and children by strengthening their families, while the Seven Principles Program is a workshop that enhances and strengthens a couple’s relationship.
Nicole is experienced in diagnosing and treating a variety of mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, personality, and co-morbid/dual diagnosed disorders, as well as life transitions. She is specialized in treating couples and families and has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She is experienced in facilitating anger management and substance abuse groups in both outpatient and residential settings as well as providing family education programming for families involved with substance use issues.
Nicole treats an individual from a multitude of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. Because of Nicole’s specialized training in marital and family therapy, she believes working from a systemic approach is effective in helping individuals understand their issues/disorders and achieve their goals.
