Nicole Melchi is a Marriage & Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor.
Nicole has been trained in the highest level of Gottman Method Couples therapy, is a qualified Seven Principles Leader, and a Bringing Baby Home Educator. The 7P qualification from the Gottman Institute enables Nicole to lead workshops that enhance and strengthen a couple’s relationship, while the BBH Program focuses on improving the quality of life for babies and children by strengthening the couple and family dynamics.
Nicole has also received unique training in the areas of perinatal and postpartum mood disorders. This training experience was designed to enhance clinical skills and therapeutic effectiveness, increasing her knowledge of treating perinatal and postpartum illness and greatly expand her clinical repertoire.
Nicole is experienced in diagnosing and treating a variety of mood disorders. She is specialized in treating couples, families, and postpartum mood disorders, and has completed all 3 levels in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She is experienced in facilitating anger management and substance abuse groups in both outpatient and residential settings as well as providing family education programming for families involved with substance use issues.
Nicole treats an individual from a multitude of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. Because of Nicole’s specialized training in marital and family therapy, she believes working from a systemic approach is effective in helping individuals understand their struggles and achieve their goals.
